By miniature, I mean about the height of a little green Monopoly house. One day, I noticed it missing and learned that someone cleaning the room swept it into the trash believing it to be a talisman of evil. So I put this 10X-sized one in the exact spot. This 2.5" x 1" cobalt blue bottle is marked BOURJO This 2.5" x 1" cobalt blue bottle is marked BOURJOIS on the bottom. It once held the eau de cologne version of Evening In Paris (Soir de Paris) by perfumer Ernest Beaux. Beaux is the creator of Chanel No. 5. Beaux had a radio show in the U.S. by the same name that began broadcasting in 1923. He released the product line of the same name to the American market in 1928. So this little (9/16") aqua jewel is a hand-gather So this little (9/16") aqua jewel is a hand-gathered transitional marble. That scar by the swirl is a crease pontil, where the shears cut through the cane before the glass fell into the rollers to be rounded. Marbles like these tend to display a 9 on one end and a tail on the other. Unless the marble maker is left-handed, then you see a 6 like on this one. The size, color, and construction (especially the pontil), tell us that this is Japanese. #marble #hangathered #slag #yasuda #transitional #aqua #swirl

I've included a photo of what it would have looked like before being dropped 80 years ago. Hard to tell here, but that's the world's tallest masonry column and the star atop is 34 feet tall and weighs 22 tons.
