There’s something about Impressionist work that captivates me. Perhaps because I was myopic to the point of legal blindness without vision correction, and Monet painted in a way that seemed to validate perceptions my own eyes produced.
I’m fond of many other Impressionists as well, particularly Pissarro’s work during the Neo-Impressionist period with Seurat and Signac – and like many, I find Van Gogh’s Post-Impressionistic work energetic and fascinating.
Creating a landscape like this is pleasant and calming. My favorites were pastels that I started doing in college, now long gone. Someone added this one to their collection.
