How to Get Featured
Jul 26th, 2010 | By Sean Ward | Category: How to Get FeaturedYou must be an artist
To be featured, you should be 18 years of age or older and one or more of the following:
- Actor – television, screen, stage, or voice
- Singer/Songwriter/Composer – any genre
- Film Producer or Director
- Visual Artist – painter, photographer, digital graphics designer (non-commercial), cartoonist, animator, etc.
- Writer – fiction or non-fiction author, novelist, poet
- Comedian
- Other Entertainer or Performance Artist
You should also have a body of work that you can share, whether published or self-published (independents welcome) – i.e., a verifiable list of performance credits, video, film, or stage clips (that you own the copyright to or have explicit written permission to submit web addresses to for display on this web site), a CD, a book, publication credits, gallery shows – you get the drift. Musicians and singers should have sound files that we can link to (previews are fine), visual artists should be able to send photographs of their work, writers are encouraged to share a first paragraph or a poem.
You must submit the following (these are dealbreakers):
- A photograph of your face
- A bio
It’s preferable that you also answer the following questions:
- When did you first realize you wanted to be a (fill in the blank), and how did you get your start? A good anecdote helps.
- Where can we enjoy your work (web addresses are welcome)?
- How long have you lived in San Antonio, or how often do you visit?
- If you are an established celebrity, tell us something we don’t know about you.
If you think the first two questions are lame, tell us something else about yourself.
Special Consideration
Special consideration is given to San Antonio residents, and all poets, independents, and others not likely to be in the public eye despite experience and/or talent.
Don’t let your location dissuade you from asking to be featured.
Please send all inquiries to featureme@seanward.org. Please do NOT attach media files other than photographs or text documents, and please be reasonable about file size.
Thank you – look forward to hearing from you!
